Built by BAM, the NHS Nightingale Hospital for Yorkshire and the Humber was officially opened on Tuesday 21st April, by fundraising legend and war veteran Captain Tom.
Converting the 10,250 ft2 Harrogate conference centre into a 500-bed facility, required the knowledge and expertise of teams from across BAM. This included Design, Services Engineering, FM and BAM Site Direct, who worked alongside personnel from the British Army and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
BAM Site Direct was able to instantly respond to the call for essential PPE and other items, enabling the project to be delivered safely and on time. Masks, Nitrile Gloves, Disposable Suits, Safety Spectacles, Hard Hats, Visitor and Management Vests were just some of the items supplied, as well as Hand Sanitiser, Hand Wash stations and Fire Protection equipment.
